Some say Stewardship is everything we do after saying "I believe." We ask our members to give of their time, talent, and treasure on a regular basis, as this is an important part of becoming whole and fully alive in Christ. The Church of the Holy Comforter depends on your support to fund our parish’s daily operations, various ministries, and physical plant as we are self-funded each and every year. Our needs also include the providing financial stability for the continued growth of the Church and the spiritual journeys of future generations.
Our approach to stewardship is built upon the following core beliefs:
We believe that the Church is a living body, composed of all persons who are made alive in God.
We believe that God calls us to give witness to God’s love, through our support for the mission and ministries of the Church.
We believe that pledging is a personal decision that is made through prayer and that decisions about pledging evolve as part of a lifetime of faithful living.
We trust that God gives us all we need, that everything we have comes as a gift from God, and that we should use our resources in ways that are pleasing to God.
We encourage you to reflect upon the ways that God has provided you with talent and resources, as you consider your pledge of financial support for the Church. We further encourage you to consider the donation of your time and talent to the ministries of the Church.
Pledging information is mailed to congregants each October as part of our annual pledge campaign. If you are not on our current mailing list and wish to make a pledge, cards are available in the Narthex for your use or may be requested by phoning the church office, at 355-3251.
Our Finance Committee meets regularly with the Treasurer to review the financial statements for the previous month. It also works with the Treasurer to prepare a budget at the end of each year which then goes to the Vestry for their approval.
